I don't know of anywhere in the states that sells crescents, though. And what I've seen they tend to be very expensive--at least in the US. I tried to research the Crescent City bike and couldn't find it--would love to know more about it. It is true that a few bikes are strong enough to hold heavy riders--usually up to 300 pounds tops. Unfortunately, the vast majority are not, and the vast majority of bike salespeople to not know how to help big riders find bikes that are strong enough for them. These kinds of things just prey on people's insecurities to make money. I have a 28" Crescent City bike. Never had a problem.
