Tadpole Recumbent bikes

I am looking for a tadpole type recumbent bike for large people. One with the added benefit of the electric assist would be great! Has anyone seen one or is Zize considering adding one to their products? The tadpole design is supposed to be more stable when riding over rough terrain which is what would happen in my neck of the woods. I would like the electric assist to be able to keep up with my husband who is in much better shape than I am so that we can still exercise together.

Formula 26 HD and other heavy duty recumbents

Hi everyone, I'm a bicycle dealer with something of interest. I hope it is OK to post about it. I have a bike in the shop called the Rans Formula 26 HD. It is a performance recumbent rated for riders up to 325 pounds. This is a 2007 model that is sadly no longer in production, but it is new. See a photo and more details at: http://easystreetrecumbents.com/bikes/index.html#fhd I should also pass along that S&B Recumbents, in southern California, can build bikes and trikes rated for up to 400 pounds. Their website is so-so, but you can have a look at http://home.pacbell.net/recumbnt/ I'm not actually a dealer for S&B, as they mainly deal customer direct, but I've supported a lot of their bikes and I have one of their 400# capacity trikes.

exercising for the obese

I found this list of hints about exercising when you're obese, and thought it was right on the money. Comes from www.about.com. Points to Remember "All exercises should be done after warm ups. They should be done at a comfortable pace. The intensity can be gradually increased. All major muscles in the body should be exercised. Spot reduction is not advised. Adopt an overall fitness regimen. Alongside this, you can try to shape up the problem areas like the stomach or the hips. Wear comfortable shoes and cotton clothes. Do not exhaust yourself. If you experience any breathing difficulty, consult your doctor. Drink a lot of fluid, as dehydration is quick among the obese." What pointers do you have?
